What journeys are in CheckFox and what they enable.

What a journey is

A journey is a map of one real user experience across the touchpoints of a service, from first contact to after the task is done. It lives at workspace level, not inside a single audit, because a journey usually crosses several audits and several channels.

Example: "Sign up and complete a first purchase" runs from the ad that brought the person in, through the signup form, the confirmation email, the product page and the checkout.

How a journey is structured

  • Phases - the ordered stages of the experience. You name them yourself; a common set is acquisition, discovery, purchase, service, notification and leaving.
  • Touchpoints - what the user actually meets inside a phase: a page, an email, a PDF, a call centre, an app screen. Each has a name and a description, and can be marked not auditable when it is outside what CheckFox can assess.
  • A linked audit per touchpoint, optional. That is what connects the map to real accessibility evidence. Deleting a touchpoint unlinks the audit; it never deletes it.
  • An emotional curve, one rating per phase from "Very frustrated" to "Delighted".
  • Opportunities and pain points, each with a severity from Low to Critical, and optionally attached to an audit.
  • Linked journeys: a journey can embed another one as a read-only block, so a shared set of phases is mapped once and reused.

A journey card shows its accessibility coverage as a percentage, derived from the audits its touchpoints link to. A journey with no linked audit shows coverage as not started.

Why journeys matter

Page-by-page audits miss failures that only surface between pages and between channels: a focus management bug across a page transition, a session lost on submit, a notification email that leads to a page nobody audited. See methodology / journey mapping.

Templates

CheckFox ships a read-only template journey. Duplicate it to get an editable copy, or hide it if it is not useful to the workspace. Only CheckFox administrators can edit the shared template itself.

Sharing

A journey can be given a public read-only link, so accessibility coverage can be shown to a client or a stakeholder without giving them an account.

Plan availability

Journeys are included from the Pro plan, and available as a paid add-on on Free and Starter. See plans and roles.
