How workspaces are structured and managed in CheckFox.

What a workspace is

A workspace is the container for a customer's data: audits, journeys, accessibility plans, members, billing settings, branding and integrations. Every audit belongs to exactly one workspace.

Personal vs. team workspaces

Personal workspace - automatically created on signup and named after you, "Ada Lovelace's Space". One member only (yourself). Cannot invite others. You can rename it.
Team workspace - created explicitly. Supports multiple members, role-based permissions, and shared audits.

Switching workspaces

The active workspace is selectable from the workspace switcher at the top of the navigation. The audits, members and settings shown are scoped to the active workspace, and so are the plan and the add-ons: two workspaces owned by the same person can be on different plans.

Workspace settings

Workspace settings are organised in tabs, most of them restricted to Owners and Moderators:

Members - invite, remove, change role
Integrations - Browserless (scanner), Jira, GitHub, Linear, MCP
Custom guidelines - the workspace's own referentials (Pro and Enterprise)
Branding - logo, colours, typography and legal footer used by published documents (Pro and Enterprise)
Data - audit export and import
Plan - plan, add-ons and billing (Owner only)

Member management

Invitations are sent by email, in the language you choose for the invitation.
The inviter picks the role, and Reader is the default. Only an Owner can invite a Moderator, and an Editor can only invite Readers.
Owners and Moderators can change a member's role afterwards, and can widen what a Reader may do through Manage access (see plans and roles).

Leaving and removing

Removing a member revokes their access immediately, including any per-audit grant they held.
Their audits are handed over, not orphaned. An audit belongs to somebody inside the workspace, so when its owner leaves it is reassigned: the person you choose when removing them, or the workspace Owner by default. The dialog says how many audits will move and to whom before you confirm. The original auditor is still credited in reports and statements; what changes is who is responsible for the audit now.
Anyone can leave a workspace themselves, from their own row in the Members list. Their audits go to the workspace Owner.
An Owner cannot leave or be removed. Ownership must be transferred to somebody else first, otherwise the workspace would be left with nobody in charge of it.
