Generate an audit report and export or share it.

Goal

Produce the report deliverable for the audit commissioner, and get it to them.

Preconditions

  • The audit has its samples and its findings recorded.
  • The findings worth showing are flagged for the report, and the observations meant for the technical audience are marked as notes for the report. See methodology / using notes.
  • PDF export requires the Starter plan or above. The share link does not.

Steps

  1. Open the audit and go to the Reports tab, then click Generate Report.
  2. Choose a template: Basic Summary, Detailed, Client-Friendly, or one of your workspace's own templates if you are on Pro or Enterprise.
  3. Choose the content language of the report, English or French. It is fixed once the report is generated.
  4. Choose the sections: overview (always in), criteria table, comments and notes, summary graphs, glossary.
  5. Generate. The report opens as a set of slides you can read, present full screen, or skip individual slides in.
  6. Deliver it, in whichever form suits the recipient:
    • Share link - make the report public and send the link. Revocable.
    • PDF - a text-based PDF, so it stays searchable and accessible.
    • Excel - technical for the criteria and their results, complete to include the written content as well.

Keeping a report current

Refresh content rebuilds the slides from the latest audit data, reusing the same template, language and settings, and keeps the same share link. Slides you had skipped or removed come back.

Verify success

  • The report opens cleanly and its findings count matches the audit.
  • The exported file carries the workspace branding if the workspace has branding.
  • The share link opens for someone who is not signed in, if you made it public.

Common pitfalls

  • Exporting before the findings are complete. "Not tested" criteria appear in the report and undermine its credibility.
  • Leaving a share link public after delivery. Make it private again when the audit is handed over.
  • Editing the exported file. Change the source data in CheckFox and regenerate. Manual edits are lost at the next re-audit.
