16.1 Does each support service provide information about the accessibility features and accessibility compatibility described in the documentation of the website?

Official methodology to test criterion 16.1

Test 1 (16.1.1)

  1. Find out whether a support service is available on the website.
  2. If so, check the website for documentation.
  3. Check the documentation for
    • a description of the accessibility features offered by the website;
    • a description of the complex components for which special management has been set up according to assistive technologies;
    • explanations of how to use these features (where they are located, how to activate them);
    • a description of elements that do not comply or are not compatible with certain assistive technologies, and the presence of alternatives where appropriate.
  4. Check that the help desk provides information about these features.
  5. If so, the test is validated.
