The CheckFox browser extension
Audit faster without leaving the page. Run an automated scan, use in-page review helpers, and push pre-filled findings straight into your CheckFox audit.
What it does
Manual accessibility audits are slow because the auditor moves constantly between the page under test and the audit tool. The CheckFox extension closes that gap by working directly inside the browser tab you are reviewing.
It is a starting point, not an autopilot. The extension pre-fills findings and surfaces context; the auditor always validates or overrides what it proposes.
Key features
Automated scan, axe-core plus CheckFox
Runs a deterministic scan that combines axe-core with CheckFox's own detection improvements to catch more real issues, and returns structured violations: rule, impact, selector and HTML snippet.
Mapped to WCAG, RGAA and RAWeb
Each violation is mapped to the relevant criteria in WCAG 2.2, RGAA 4.1 and RAWeb 1, so results land where your audit expects them.
30+ in-page audit helpers
More than 30 in-page tools to support manual review: visualise tab order, heading structure, alt text, ARIA roles and a no-CSS view, or inject your own CSS snippet for power-user checks.
Two-way sync with CheckFox
Push pre-filled findings into the matching audit sample, and pull existing findings back as context while you work.
How it works
Connect
Paste your CheckFox API key once in Settings. It is stored locally on your device.
Scan
Open the extension on the page you are auditing and run the scan to collect structured violations.
Review
Use the in-page helpers to verify findings manually, then confirm, edit or discard each one.
Sync
Push the confirmed findings to the matching sample in your CheckFox audit.
Built with privacy in mind
Your API key and preferences stay on your device. Data leaves the extension only to reach your own CheckFox account, over HTTPS, and only when you explicitly act. No analytics, no third-party trackers.
